Progressive Lens Replacement for Your Existing Frames
Keep the frames you already like and replace only the lenses. RenewLens provides
progressive lens replacement online for eligible eyeglass frames,
including frames you currently wear and new frames purchased from another retailer.
Progressive lenses combine distance, intermediate, and reading correction in one lens
without the visible line found in a traditional bifocal.
Compare clear, high-index, Transitions®, polarized, and HD progressive lens options
from Essilor and Shamir. Place your order online, provide your valid
prescription, and send us your frames using free prepaid shipping. We prepare and install
the lenses, inspect the finished glasses, and ship them back to you.

Essilor and Shamir Progressive Lenses
Use the Essilor and Shamir tabs above to compare one brand at a time, or leave both tabs
unselected to view every available progressive lens. The best choice is not determined by
the brand alone. Your prescription, frame measurements, viewing habits, lens design, and
material all affect the finished result.
Essilor Progressive Lens Options
Essilor is known for progressive-lens technologies including the Varilux® family
and for Crizal® lens treatments. RenewLens offers Essilor progressive options for
everyday clear wear, thinner high-index lenses, light-adaptive lenses, polarized sun
lenses, and HD designs, depending on the selected product and prescription.
Review the individual product page carefully: an Essilor lens does not automatically
include a specific Varilux design, Crizal coating, or Transitions upgrade unless that
feature is identified in the product details.
Shamir Progressive Lens Options
Shamir progressive choices on RenewLens include Spectrum+ for everyday multifocal use,
Autograph Intelligence for a more personalized progressive design, and Driver
Intelligence for road, distance, and dashboard viewing. Available materials include
CR-39, polycarbonate, 1.60 high-index, and 1.67 high-index, depending on the design.
Shamir options can also be paired with eligible upgrades such as Transitions GEN S,
XTRActive, polarized sun lenses, tints, and Shamir Glacier PLUS coatings when shown as
available for the selected product.
Important distinction: the progressive design controls how vision
is distributed across distance, intermediate, and near zones. The lens material
primarily affects thickness, weight, impact resistance, and available treatments. A thinner
material is not automatically a more advanced progressive design.

Progressive Lens Materials
The right material depends on more than prescription strength. Frame size, mounting style,
safety needs, and desired thickness should also be considered.
- CR-39 plastic: clear optical material and an economical option for many lower prescriptions.
- Polycarbonate: lightweight and impact resistant; commonly selected for active use and many drilled or semi-rimless applications.
- 1.60 high-index: a thinner option for many moderate prescriptions.
- 1.67 high-index: designed to reduce thickness for many stronger prescriptions.
- 1.74 high-index: a maximum-thinness option for eligible very strong prescriptions and compatible frames.
Prescription ranges shown on product cards are general shopping guidance, not an automatic
approval. RenewLens reviews the complete prescription and frame before production.

Can Progressive Lenses Be Installed in My Frames?
Progressive lenses can be installed in many full-rim, semi-rimless, rimless, and sunglass
frames when the frame is stable, compatible with the prescription, and provides enough
usable lens area for the selected design. Frame height matters, but there is no single
minimum measurement that is correct for every progressive lens. Short-corridor designs can
work in some smaller frames, while other prescriptions and designs need more vertical room.
Send new frames with their temporary demonstration lenses installed whenever possible.
Damaged, brittle, heavily curved, unusually small, or previously altered frames may require
additional review. If the frame or prescription is not compatible with the selected lens,
we will contact you before production.
Measurements Matter With Progressive Lenses
Progressive lenses must be positioned so the distance, intermediate, and near zones align
with your eyes and the way the frame sits on your face. Pupillary distance, fitting position,
prescription ADD power, frame dimensions, and other measurements may be required depending
on the lens design. If additional information is needed, RenewLens will contact you before
completing the lenses.
If you are new to progressive lenses, allow time to become familiar with the different
viewing zones. A correct prescription, accurate measurements, appropriate frame, and the
right design selection all matter more than choosing by price alone.
