Frame Handling & Liability

Frame Handling & Liability At RenewLens, we handle every customer’s frames with care throughout the lens replacement process. Before work begins, each frame is visually inspected for condition, material type, visible wear, previous repairs, and overall suitability for new lenses. Some frames, especially older, heavily worn, previously repaired, brittle, cracked, or lower-quality frames, may carry a higher risk during lens replacement. If we notice visible concerns before processing, we may contact you before proceeding or, when appropriate, decline service to help protect your eyewear. Lens replacement may require pressure, adjustment, or heat depending on the frame and lens type. While we use careful, industry-standard methods, hidden weakness, age, material limitations, or prior repairs are not always visible before work begins. By placing an order and sending your frames to RenewLens, you understand that lens replacement carries some inherent risk, especially with older or fragile frames. RenewLens is not responsible for frame damage caused by pre-existing weakness, hidden defects, age, material limitations, manufacturing quality, or prior repairs. If a frame breaks during processing, we will notify you promptly and discuss available options. When feasible, we may return the frame and lenses or help explore replacement-frame options that may work with your lenses. Replacement frames are not included unless specifically stated. Minor adjustments may be needed after you receive your glasses. Any adjustments performed by another optical shop or third party are outside of RenewLens’ control. Our goal is to treat your eyewear carefully while being transparent about the real-world limits of replacing lenses in existing frames.
