HAVEN'T ORDERED YET?

Choose your lenses before you mail your frames

If you have not placed your order yet, select the lens type and options you need first. You can upload your prescription during checkout or provide it later when the order allows.

STEP 1

Check Your Frame Condition Before Shipping

Lens replacement works best when the frame is structurally stable enough to accept new lenses. Inspect the glasses before packing them so any existing damage is identified before transit or production.

01

Look for existing damage or instability

  • Cracks around hinges, bridge, rims, or mounting points
  • Loose or missing screws
  • Bent or badly misaligned temples
  • Warped frame shape
  • Brittleness, deep stress marks, or heavy wear
Good candidate Frame is stable, intact, and still fits properly.
Needs review Older, heavily worn, rimless, specialty, or unusually curved frames.
Contact first Visible cracks, loose mounting areas, missing hardware, or obvious instability.
Not every frame is compatible with every prescription or lens design. Frame condition, construction, size, curvature, mounting method, and the requested lenses can all affect suitability.

STEP 2

Confirm Your Prescription and Measurements

A readable, valid prescription helps prevent order delays. Make sure the information matches the lenses you are ordering.

02

Review the prescription before sending your frames

  • Make sure the prescription is current and readable
  • Confirm sphere values for both eyes
  • Confirm cylinder and axis when astigmatism correction is prescribed
  • Confirm ADD power for progressive or multifocal orders when required
  • Provide PD and any additional measurements required for the selected lens design

STEP 3

Leave the Old Lenses in the Frame

03

Do not remove the lenses at home unless RenewLens specifically instructs you to

Your existing lenses can help keep the frame stable during shipping, and professional removal reduces the chance of twisting, cracking, or damaging mounting areas.

  • Avoid heating plastic frames to remove lenses
  • Do not force lenses out of full-rim frames
  • Do not loosen rimless or semi-rimless hardware unnecessarily
  • Send new frames with demonstration lenses still installed when possible

STEP 4

Pack Your Glasses So They Cannot Move Around

Secure packaging matters more than simply using a box. The goal is to prevent the frame from shifting, flexing, or contacting hard surfaces during transit.

CASE Use a hard case When available, place the glasses inside a protective case.
WRAP Wrap gently Use clean microfiber or soft protective material around the frame.
PAD Add padding Fill empty space so the case or glasses cannot slide inside the box.
BOX Use a sturdy box Avoid loose envelopes or thin packaging for valuable frames.
SEAL Seal securely Close the package fully before attaching the shipping label.

STEP 5

Choose the Shipping Method That Works Best for You

RenewLens currently offers free round-trip shipping on eligible U.S. lens-replacement orders. Customers can use their own secure box with a prepaid label or request a prepaid shipping kit when available.

USE YOUR OWN BOX

Print the prepaid label

Pack the glasses securely in your own sturdy box, attach the provided label, and keep the tracking information after the carrier accepts the package.

  • Use a rigid shipping box
  • Protect the frame inside
  • Attach the correct prepaid label
  • Keep the tracking number
For unusually expensive, rare, sentimental, or fragile frames, review the shipping and frame-risk details carefully before mailing them.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before You Send Your Frames FAQs

Can RenewLens replace lenses in any frame?

No service can guarantee that every frame is suitable for every prescription or lens design. Many full-rim, semi-rimless, acetate, and metal prescription frames can be considered, but condition, construction, curvature, mounting style, prescription, and required lens thickness can affect compatibility.

Should I remove my old lenses before shipping?

Usually, no. Leave the existing lenses installed unless RenewLens specifically instructs you otherwise. Professional removal reduces the risk of distorting the frame or damaging mounting areas.

What happens if RenewLens sees a problem with my frame?

Frames are reviewed before production. If the frame appears unsuitable or requires additional review, RenewLens may contact you before lens production proceeds. Existing frame condition and risk are handled according to the published service and policy terms.

How long does lens replacement take?

Most RenewLens lens-replacement orders are typically completed within 3–7 business days after the frames and valid prescription are received, provided the order information is complete and the frame and lens combination are suitable.

Is shipping included?

RenewLens currently provides free round-trip shipping on eligible U.S. lens-replacement orders. You can use your own secure box with a prepaid label or request a shipping kit when available.

Can I send a new frame that does not have prescription lenses yet?

In many cases, yes. Compatible new frames purchased elsewhere can be sent for prescription lens installation. Leave temporary or demonstration lenses installed when possible so the frame arrives supported.

Do I have to send my prescription inside the box?

Not necessarily. Follow the order instructions for submitting your prescription electronically or sending it later. A valid prescription must be available before prescription lens production.
